Waste Collection Schedule Changes

December 31, 2019
On January 6, 2020 waste collection schedules will be changing throughout the City of Jacksonville. These changes will effect residents serviced by ADS and SWS/Republic. Residents in the WastePro collection service area experienced a similar schedule shift on November 4, 2019. These changes do not affect apartment complexes, commercial businesses, multi-family housing communities, or other places that do not utilize residential waste collection services.

City Offices and Facilities Closed for New Year's Day

With a focus on addressing blight and poor neighborhood conditions, the City of Jacksonville offers citizens opportunities and events that encourage appropriate disposal of waste and other debris throughout Jacksonville. One of these many efforts is through the Solid Waste Division, which hosts household hazardous waste (HHW) and electronic waste (e-waste) mobile collection events throughout the year.
 

Celebrate the Holidays at Artwalk and City Hall Open House

This Wednesday - December 4, 2019 - downtown will become the destination for holiday fun during December’s Art Walk. Attendees can celebrate the season by caroling with the Jacksonville Children’s Chorus, visiting the North Pole Snow Zone, making holiday cards at the Main Library and much more. The entertainment starts at 5 p.m. along Laura Street.
