City of Jacksonville Encourages Participation in 2021-2025 Consolidated Plan for Housing

July 08, 2021

The City of Jacksonville invites residents to participate in the development of the 2021-2025 Consolidated Plan (ConPlan).

In order to receive the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), HOME Investment Partnership Program (HOME), Emergency Shelter Grant Program (ESG) and Housing Opportunities for People with AIDS (HOPWA), the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) requires a five-year comprehensive plan of housing and development needs called the ConPlan.

Public input is critical to accessing housing and community development priorities. Citizens can participate in the development of the ConPlan in a variety of ways to help the City make data-driven decisions for federally funded programs.

There are three ways the community can participate: taking the online survey, attending a virtual meeting and attending the public hearing. Please visit https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/COJ-Community-2021 to take the community survey. The virtual meeting will be on Friday, July 9th at 10 a.m. Login information is below.

Zoom: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/89131173119
Meeting ID: 891 3117 3119

Finally, citizens can attend a public hearing to receive information about current activities, express housing and community development needs and make suggestions for activities they would like to see implemented. The public hearing is on Monday, August 2nd. The meeting will be held at the Legends Center (5054 Soutel Dr. – 32208) at 2 p.m. in the Community Room.
