City’s Fire and Rescue Department to Honor Fallen Brethren

December 16, 2019
According to the National Institute for Occupational Safety, each year in the United States, an estimated 80 to 100 firefighters and emergency personnel lose their lives in the line of duty.
The Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department will host its annual Fallen Firefighter Memorial Observance to pay tribute to the 22 local heroes who made the ultimate sacrifice.

This year’s ceremony will be held at Fire Station #1 (611 N. Liberty St. – 32202) from 10:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.
