Hemming Park Announces Events and Programming for December 2019

Celebrate the holiday season with Friends of Hemming Park

Friends of Hemming Park is proud to host events in Hemming Park located at 135 W. Monroe Street in the heart of Downtown Jacksonville. All activities listed below are free and open to the public.

WEEKLY PROGRAMMING

  • Monday – Friday: Food Trucks and music at Charlie’s CafĂ©, 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. 
  • Monday - Sunday: Hemming Park Kids Zone, 11 a.m. – 5 p.m.

SPECIAL EVENTS

ArtWalk: Spirit of Giving
Wednesday, December 4 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Join Downtown Vision and Friends of Hemming Park in celebrating the Spirit of Giving. Thank you to the Sleiman family for donating their 56-foot Christmas tree in honor of Eli Sr. and Josephine Sleiman. Don’t miss the lighting of the tree with Mayor and Mrs. Curry at 6:25 with performances by The Jacksonville Children’s Choir. Santa and Mrs. Claus will be at the North pole zone where you can enjoy real snow and holiday treats. ArtWalk is presented by Downtown Vision on the first Wednesday of every month, rain or shine. More than 60 ArtWalk venues stretch across Downtown Jacksonville’s core and include galleries, museums, businesses and more. Hemming Park serves as ArtWalk headquarters and hosts a variety of artists and live performances every month.
 
Holidays in Hemming
Saturday, December 14 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Celebrate the holidays with a full day of family-friendly fun in Hemming Park, sponsored by Community First Credit Union. Shop with local artisans and dine with the best of Jacksonville's food trucks; enjoy music and dance performances and free photos with Santa! Totally Lit Hanukkah Party
Sunday, December 29 from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Join Hemming Park and the Jacksonville Public Library for our annual celebration of Hanukkah and its related traditions. We'll enjoy live music, storytelling and crafts; dreidel games and more. Skyway Saturdays
Saturday, December 14 - Skyway runs from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Take a free ride on the Jacksonville Transit Authority SkyWay to visit MOCA Jacksonville, the Jacksonville Public Library and Hemming Park. 

LIVE MUSIC

Friends of Hemming Park hosts live music from 11:30 to 2 p.m. every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Wednesday music is sponsored by Jax Vision Care.
