Kick off the new year with Friends of Hemming Park

Friends of Hemming Park is proud to host events in Hemming Park located at 135 W. Monroe Street in the heart of Downtown Jacksonville. All activities listed below are free and open to the public.


  • Monday – Friday: Food Trucks and music at Charlie’s Café, 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. 
  • Monday – Sunday: Hemming Park Kids Zone, 11 a.m. – 5 p.m.


Hemming Park Birthday Celebration
Thursday, January 23 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Help us celebrate the 154th birthday of Jacksonville's most historic public space. Join us in the park to talk about upcoming events and enjoy complimentary birthday cake (while supplies last!) with live music by the 77d’s and food truck fare from Wurstbusters and Kravegan. Times Union Half Marathon & 5k
Saturday, January 11 from 7:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
The Inaugural Times-Union Half Marathon & 5K is coming to Jacksonville, FL on January 11, 2020 for a fun day of running and celebrating. Whether you’re a seasoned runner or a beginner, you’ll have a blast joining thousands of others as you run through downtown Jacksonville and celebrate your finish with a huge party featuring delicious craft beer, free food, and rockin' music! United for Change Rally & March
Saturday, January 18 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
This year’s Women's March Rally and March theme is United for Change. The goal is to engage and unite the community to move forward together, United for Change in 2020 and beyond. Music - Speakers - Food Trucks - Vendors - Like Minded Organizations will make this a fun, informative, action oriented event. Friends of Hemming Park hosts live music from 11:30 to 2 p.m. every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Wednesday music is sponsored by Jax Vision Care.
