Go365® by Humana Announces City of Jacksonville as Winner of its Most Active City Step Challenge, Resulting in 9,000 Meals Donated to Feeding Northeast Florida

January 06, 2021
Today, leading health and well-being company, Humana Inc. (NYSE: HUM), announced the City of Jacksonville as the winner of its inaugural Go365® Most Active City Step Challenge in Florida. As the contest winner in the Go365 wellness and rewards program contest, Humana will donate 9,000 meals to Feeding Northeast Florida in the City of Jacksonville’s name.

During the step challenge, which ran from Oct. 14 – Nov. 11, 2020, more than 400 of the City’s employees participated, taking 83,273,002 steps, and outpacing the other participating Florida cities by a wide margin.

“By moving for a cause, the City of Jacksonville employees not only improved their own health and well-being, but also the community-at-large,” said Laura Nolan, Humana Public Sector Health Solutions Executive. “We’re thrilled to recognize the City, which has been such a great partner working with Humana and other organizations to improve the health of the Jacksonville community, and we applaud the city employees who made this important donation to Feeding Northeast Florida possible.”

The City of Jacksonville has been enrolled in the Go365 rewards and health program since 2017. City employees who participated in the step challenge also benefitted through Points added to their Go365 account. Points were awarded for being part of the step challenge, as well as for logging daily step counts.

“I am proud of Team COJ for taking charge of their health, getting active, and earning this remarkable achievement,” said Jacksonville Mayor Lenny Curry. “I am also proud of the significant donation to Feeding Northeast Florida that will provide much needed assistance to thousands of our citizens.  I am grateful to Humana for their partnership in this effort and their continued support for our community.”

Go365 combines rewards and health – from physical to mental well-being. The program provides tools and support to help members live healthier lives and reduce overall health claims costs.* For every verified, healthy action they take, members earn Points and Bucks towards rewards in the Go365 Mall, such as e-gift cards, fitness devices and apparel, charitable donations and discounts for products.
