Jacksonville Celebrates Ribault Lady Trojans

April 12, 2016
Thousands turned out along Laura Street in downtown Jacksonville sporting their blue and white to support Jacksonville's Ribault Lady Trojans basketball team. A parade and celebration were held on April 12 to honor the team's big win at the Dick's Sporting Goods High School National Tournament in New York City's Madison Square Gardens.
The City of Jacksonville, Duval County Public Schools, and the JAX Chamber recognized “Bluesday” and encouraged everyone to wear blue in support of Ribault’s champions! The parade began at 3 p.m. at the Jacksonville Landing and continued to Hemming Park. In the park, a celebration was held and broadcasted live on 1010XL sports radio before the team moved into City Hall to be recognized at the City Council meeting.
