City Prepares for Gators and Bulldogs Fans

The City of Jacksonville is hosting the annual Florida-Georgia football game on Saturday, Oct. 31, at 3:30 p.m. The University of Florida will take home field against the University of Georgia at EverBank Field. Jacksonville has been home to this historic rivalry since 1933.
“Florida-Georgia brings our community together unlike anything else,” said Mayor Lenny Curry. “This weekend’s festivities are built upon the energy of two prestigious institutions, their loyal fans, and some of the most talented student-athletes and coaches ever to take the field.”

The weekend includes events and activities such as the 20th Annual Merrill Lynch/Bank of America Florida-Georgia Hall of Fame Luncheon, presented by Ruth’s Chris Steak House; RV City, presented by Winn-Dixie; the AutoZone Florida-Georgia Tailgate Party; presented by Cheney Brothers; the TAILGATE concert, featuring The Band Perry; and Touchdown Showdown, an interactive game day fan experience.

In addition, the City of Jacksonville will host six Sideline Safety Zones in the Sports Complex and throughout downtown Jacksonville. The Sideline Safety Zones, presented by William Scotsman, will provide free assistance ranging from first aid, transportation, directions, telephone service, food, water, and more.
