JFRD to Provide Service to Jacksonville Beach Starting This Weekend

November 22, 2019
Beginning Saturday morning, November 23, 2019, the Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department will begin providing fire and emergency services to the Jacksonville Beach area.
Mayor Lenny Curry has committed to place an Advanced Life Support Rescue Unit within every community in the city and holding true to that promise, a rescue unit will be placed into service at the South Beach Parkway fire station.  This additional unit will double the number of rescues assigned to Jacksonville Beach community.

Over the years, JFRD has merged with numerous, independent fire departments throughout the county. The agreement between the City of Jacksonville Beach and JFRD results in the complete consolidation of fire and rescue service throughout Jacksonville. This consolidation creates a standardized level of emergency response and reduces duplication of services which will result in lower response times and increased service levels.
