The Sheriff and I continue to meet weekly to discuss and evaluate the safety needs of Jacksonville citizens. In fact, we just participated in an intelligence briefing with our security teams less than 24 hours prior to the California incident. This is the type of collaboration and communications we commit to that strengthen and bolster our knowledge, training and preparedness.

As we work together, we ask our citizens to do the same. Please remain vigilant and aware of surroundings and report any activity that appears threatening to the safety and security of citizens and communities.
