Celebrate Reading Week: March 21-25, 2022
Kids Hope Alliance and the Jacksonville Public Education Fund invite everyone to join us as we kick off a community-wide literacy initiative aimed at improving third grade reading proficiency and literacy for local youth. We have designated March 21st- 25th as the “Celebrate Reading Week!”

This exciting week will include a “Creative Writing Contest” and organization-driven activities to “Celebrate the Magic of Reading”.  To enter the Creative Writing Contest, Duval students ages 6-18 are invited to submit their own written stories, poems, or any other form of creative writing  to Kids Hope Alliance by March 18th. Please see attached flyers for more details on these two events.

On March 23rd READ JAX, a collective of organizations banded together as part of the Duval Campaign for Grade-Level Reading, will be hosting our kick-off luncheon event featuring author and literacy advocate, Ty Allan Jackson!  Mayor Lenny Curry and Duval County Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Diana Greene are co-chairing the campaign.

During the event, business partners and guests will hear from Ty along with many other prominent Jacksonville leaders about the commitment & momentum needed to drive reading literacy results to pave the way for college and career opportunities in youth with just “20 minutes a day” of reading!
