April 05, 2016
In the atrium of City Hall on Tuesday, April 5, Mayor Lenny Curry joined Sheriff Mike Williams, State Attorney Angela Corey and other community leaders and victims’ advocates to speak out against sexual assault in our community.
With a proclamation, Mayor Curry declared April as Sexual Assault Awareness Month in Jacksonville, citing national statistics that reveal that about 18 percent of women throughout the U.S. have been victims of rape, and 1.8 million adolescents have been sexually abused.
