Jessica Baker

Mayor Appoints Deputy Director for Intergovernmental Affairs

Mayor Lenny Curry today appointed Jessica Baker as deputy director of Intergovernmental Affairs. 

Baker will join the three-person team, led by Ali Korman Shelton and assisted by Latanya Peterson, tasked with crafting and guiding state and city legislative policy and bills for Mayor Curry’s administration. 
“Jessica’s extensive legal acumen and knowledge of the legislative process will provide great service to the people of Jacksonville,” said Mayor Curry.  “She’ll be a great addition to a team that is already moving forward at a rapid speed.”

About Jessica Baker

Baker most recently served at the Jacksonville offices of Ballard Partners as a government affairs consultant, where she performed numerous tasks in government relations for a diverse client base including municipal governments, public school boards, airports and private organizations. Prior to her tenure at Ballard, Baker worked at Sachs Sax Caplan, PL in Tallahassee as a legal associate and government affairs consultant.  Baker also served in the Office of the Florida Senate Deputy Majority Leader and on the Mike Haridopolis for United States Senate Campaign.

Baker enjoys fishing and boating with her husband of four years, and also volunteers her time with the Junior League.  She is a Magna Cum Laude graduate of The Florida State University and Cum Laude graduate of The Florida State Law School.

Ms. Baker’s salary will be $85,000.
