Mayor Continues Appointments for City Leadership

Two City of Jacksonville employees are continuing to serve the city following their appointments by Mayor Lenny Curry. Daryl Joseph has been appointed to serve as Director of the Parks, Recreation and Community Services Department and Dave Herrell has been reappointed to the role of Sports and Entertainment Officer.
“Daryl Joseph and Dave Herrell bring top talent and great experience to the City of Jacksonville,” said Mayor Curry. “Our Sports and Entertainment Office and Parks, Recreation and Community Services Department play key roles in enhancing the quality of life for residents and visitors alike. I am pleased to have both of them continue their great service to the people of Jacksonville and look forward to continued progress.”

Prior to serving as interim director of Parks, Recreation, and Community Services, Joseph held a number of management positions with the city, including Park Services Manager, Park Development and Natural Resources Manager, and Planning and Grantsoordinator. His salary as director will be $115,000.

Herrell will continue to serve as Sports and Entertainment Officer for the City of Jacksonville overseeing professional and collegiate sports partnerships throughout northeast Florida and the City’s Special Events Office. Herrels served ile since August 2014, managing relationships with sports and entertainment stakeholders, including the Jacksonville Jaguars, Jacksonville Suns, Jacksonville Symphony, local universities and more. Prior to working for the City of Jacksonville, Herrell worked for the Arizona Sports Foundation and Nashville Sports Council. His salary will be $155,000.
