January 24, 2024
Mayor Donna Deegan will launch River City Readers, her citywide reading challenge for school-age children, on Saturday, January 27, 2024 with a kickoff event at the main library downtown.

Kickoff attendees will receive free books from READ JAX and READ USA as well as free backpacks; see author Vincent Taylor perform; and have the chance to participate in other activities. There will also be boxed lunches.

Mayor Deegan will challenge all attendees, and the entire city, to download a free app called Beanstack.
