Make your 4th of July Sparkle by Adopting a New Pet

The City of Jacksonville’s Animal Care and Protective Services (ACPS) is celebrating Independence Day by hosting a five-day pet adoption event.

There will be free adoptions on all dogs and cats 1 year and older. City license fee may apply. Adoption hours are:
  • Wednesday, June 30th from 12 p.m. to 7 p.m.
  • Thursday, July 1st from 12 p.m. to 7 p.m.
  • Friday, July 2nd from 12 p.m. to 7 p.m.
  • Saturday, July 3rd from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
  • Sunday, July 4th from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

“Give a deserving pet their independence this 4th of July! While some animals are adopted more quickly than others, all pets available for adoption at ACPS make great additions to families in our community,” said ACPS Shelter Manager Marcy Gallo. Visit the ACPS shelter (2020 Forest St. – 32204) in person or visit www.coj.net/pets to view available pets.
