EARTH DAY CLEANUP

Volunteers Needed for 5th Annual Earth Day Downtown Cleanup

April 20, 2017
While fight blight efforts are a consistent part of Mayor Lenny Curry’s administration, the City’s Keep Jacksonville Beautiful Commission and Hyatt Regency are teaming up to host a cleanup in observance of Earth Day (April 22). Volunteers are needed for the fifth annual event that will include a cleanup of areas inside of Liberty, Water, Jefferson and Church streets.
This event is a great opportunity for students who need community service credit, local groups and organizations looking for a short-term community project, and citizens wishing to clean up downtown. Established in 1970, Earth Day is an observance that aims to raise worldwide awareness and support for environmental protection.

WHEN: Saturday, April 22 8 a.m.

WHERE: The Jacksonville Landing 2 W. Independent Drive—32202

Volunteers are asked to gather promptly at 8 a.m.
