The Jacksonville Public Library will host the 7th Annual Teen Battle of the Bands this Saturday. The event begins at 1 p.m. at the Main Library. This free, one-of-a-kind local contest gives teens the opportunity to perform their original work in front of hundreds of spectators, fans, family and friends. Six local bands of all musical genres face off for a chance to win studio recording time and gift certificates. All ages are welcome to attend.
DJ Nick Fresh will host this year’s event, with performances by Eviction, Jake Calhoun & Soul Connection, Palm Trees & Power Lines, Dudes on a Rug, Serious Alarm and Subterranean. Three judges will vote to determine the winning bands based on performance, songwriting, audience reaction and overall energy. The judges will remain anonymous until the event, but have been selected for their backgrounds in the music industry.

Special thanks to J. Wayne and Delores Barr Weaver, Five Star Pizza, Green Team Media, True Tone Recording Studios, Sunburst Studios and The Friends of the Jacksonville Public Library for their generous support.

The Jacksonville Public Library is committed to making its programs accessible to all persons. If you need special accommodations, please call 630-0673 (TTY 630-1999) at least 72 hours prior to the event.
