In partnership with the Cultural Council of Greater Jacksonville, Mayor Lenny Curry will announce the selection of the public art project for the Duval County Courthouse lawn.
The announcement follows a national search and months of dialogue with community input. After receiving more than 140 submissions, the Art in Public Places committee selected three proposals from some of the most experienced and prominent public artists in the United States for consideration. The three finalists for the Duval County Courthouse plaza project are:
- Cliff Garten, Cliff Garten Studio – Venice, CA
- Walter Hood, Hood Design Studio – Oakland, CA
- Matt Niebuhr and Dave Dahlquist RDG Art Studio – Des Moines, IA
The three-acre lawn of the Courthouse will become a safe, active urban park with multiple spaces for small events, free speech, and sculptures. View the Cultural Council’s website
