The Environmental Justice Small Grant was awarded to the EEC to provide educational workshops concerning the concept of community gardening and to demonstrate how the presence and accessibility of community health centers can improve a community’s overall health.

The grant is focused towards Jacksonville’s Health Zone 1. Some topics covered at this event include: environmental justice; community gardening and seasonal planting; greenhouse gardening; aquaponics; community health; healthy cooking and its benefits and rain barrel demonstration.
