The Mary L. Singleton Senior Center Site Council raised more than $6,700 to replace 30-year-old stage curtains and will unveil the new ones during a formal public program.
“Our seniors love the Mary L. Singleton Center - many of them refer to it as their ‘home away from home’ - and they take great pride in doing what they can to help keep it clean and attractive,” said Pat Martin, Mary L. Singleton Senior Center Site Council president. “The site council members are proud to announce they have held several fundraisers over the past 12 months to purchase the much needed curtains, which will add a fresh new beginning for this community landmark.”

The City of Jacksonville’s Mary L. Singleton Senior Center is the largest and most widely utilized senior centers in the city. The center provides scheduled programming and nutritious, hot meals for senior citizens and is used by members of the public for weekend rentals.
