Jacksonville Day Resource Center Day of Impact

More than 150 volunteers will meet on June 12 at the Jacksonville Day Resource Center (JDRC) for a Day of Impact, hosted by JDRC in conjunction with the annual Nielsen Global Impact Day. City Rescue Mission Executive Director Penny Kievet will join representatives from the Nielsen Company, The Mission Continues and the City of Jacksonville for an opening ceremony and awards presentation at 8:30 a.m.
JDRC board members and the center’s founding partners, including the City of Jacksonville, Wells Fargo, ACON Construction ICARE, VRL Architects, the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office and St. Phillips Episcopal Church, will be recognized by JDRC during the event.
 
Following the ceremony, the city’s Office of Risk Management will conduct a brief safety training for participants. Volunteers will then divide into teams to complete cleanup projects at ten downtown sites.
Lunch and live entertainment will be provided at JDRC following completion of the projects. 

The 10 downtown locations targeted for cleanup are:

  • Hemming Plaza
  • Main Street Park
  • Jacksonville Landing
  • JDRC
  • City Rescue Mission
  • Sulzbacher Center for the Homeless
  • Salvation Army
  • Clara White Mission
  • St. Phillips Episcopal Church
  • Lot adjacent to Trinity Mission
