St. Johns River, Downtown
Jacksonville, Florida
Boater Registration is now open

Mayor Alvin Brown is pleased to announce the Jacksonville Light Parade will be held Nov. 24 at 7 p.m. The event will be held in partnership with private organizations and local supporters, similar to the 2011 event.
The City of Jacksonville invites boat captains and crews to register for the 2012 Jacksonville Light Parade. Registration is free; however, it is limited to the first 100 vessels.

The Jacksonville Light Parade is a river tradition that highlights festively decorated vessels of all shapes and sizes as they parade along the St. Johns River through Downtown Jacksonville.

“I applaud the civic-minded individuals who are supporting this long standing tradition,” said Mayor Brown. “The call for boaters is officially open.”

Partners involved in coordinating the event include the City of Jacksonville, The Jacksonville Landing, The Freedom Boat Club, Visit Jacksonville, Downtown Vision, Inc. and the Jacksonville Marine Association.

Boaters interested in participating can visit the website www.makeascenedowntown.com for registration information.
