Homeless Veteran Reintegration Program (HVRP)
The City of Jacksonville, Military Affairs and Veterans Department (MAVD) houses the Homeless Veterans Reintegration Program (HVRP) supported by the Jacksonville Veterans Resource and Reintegration Center.

HVRP provides an array of services utilizing a case management approach that directly assists homeless veterans and offers critical access to a variety of local support services. The program is employment focused, and veterans receive the employment and training services they need to re-enter the labor force. Job placement, training, job development, career counseling and resume preparation are among the services that are provided. Support services such as interview clothing and work tools are made available to participants, as well as referrals to temporary, transitional and permanent housing, medical and substance abuse treatment, and transportation assistance.

Veterans must be homeless, living in temporary shelter, living termporarily at the residence of another due to economic hardship or in imminent loss of housing through eviction or foreclosure to apply for the program. If Veteran is in imminent loss of housing through eviction and foreclosure, documentation is required.

This program provides multiple access points through partnerships between the City of Jacksonville MAVD, Clara White Mission, CareerSource, the Emergency Services Homeless Coalition, Goodwill of North Florida and I.M. Sulzbacher Center.

The emphasis on helping homeless veterans acquire and retain jobs is enhanced through coordination with local veterans' services programs and organizations, such as the CareerSource Disabled Veterans' Outreach Program and Local Veterans’ Employment Representatives. Additionally, collaborative relationships exist with the American Legion, Disabled American Veterans, Veterans of Foreign Wars, and the Departments of Veterans' Affairs, Housing and Urban Development, and Health and Human Services.
