Animal Care and Protective Services
Animal Care and Protective Services has averaged an 83% save rate over the last year. With an increasing amount of volunteer hours, they hope to raise the save rate further to help improve the lives of the animals they take in. Animals taken in by Animal Care and Protective Services are brought in due to being relinquished by owners, coming in as strays or being impounded/seized, with a small amount being transferred in from agencies. The largest intake amount is animals that are stray/at large. Our shelter sees an average of about 400 animals daily from the months of May to December, with an average of about 60 volunteer hours daily between those same months.
Stop by the shelter anytime. Even if you can’t adopt right now, you can volunteer to take a dog for a run or walk, or foster a pet.
