Friends of Hemming Park is proud to host the following programs and events in Hemming Park, located at 135 W. Monroe Street in the heart of Downtown Jacksonville. All activities listed below are free and open to the public unless otherwise noted.

Today, Mayor Lenny Curry announced that the City of Jacksonville, the Jacksonville Jaguars, Iguana Development as well as other nationally-renowned partners have reached a deal for the development of Lot J at TIAA Bank Field. 

Did you know the City owns and manages 4 golf courses? Bent Creek, Fiddler’s Green, First Tee and Blue Cypress golf courses are located in neighborhoods on Jacksonville’s west, north and south sides, respectively.

Mayor Curry joined several of Jacksonville’s business and community leaders for the Second Quarter JAXUSA Partnership Luncheon at the Hyatt Regency Jacksonville Riverfront (225 E. Coastline Drive – 32202) on Monday.

Stop by the Winston Family YMCA on Saturday, July 27th for the Back-To-School Bash! We will be joining in on all of the back-to-school fun with adoptable pets. Adoptions will be FREE* at both the Winston YMCA and the City shelter adoption center located at 2020 Forest Street. Stop by, say hello, and celebrate the start of another school year with a new pet!

The State of Florida awarded two grants to the City of Jacksonville’s Military Affairs and Veterans Department to further strengthen the city’s strong relationship with the United States Armed Forces.

In celebration of National Parks and Recreation Month, the City’s Parks, Recreation and Community Services Department will host Game On!, a day to enjoy the outdoors, from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. at Robert F. Kennedy Park (1133 Ionia St. - 32206).

Through a partnership with Three Rivers Legal Services, Inc. (TRLS) and Equal Justice Works AmeriCorps, the City’s Military Affairs and Veterans Department will offer free legal counseling services to veterans and their families.

The Avengers are returning to Jacksonville’s parks! A free screening of “Avengers: Infinity War” (Rated PG-13) will be hosted at two locations:
