Ferry Fest 2013

Ferry Fest - Oct 12th

September 27, 2013
Come join us and show your support for the ferry. Between the impacts to the A1A Greenway, the economy of our area, jobs that will be lost and the memories we all have, we just cannot let this unique river crossing disappear!
The ferry is the only link for State Road A1A from Maine to Key West. A bridge cannot be built on the site. Jacksonville citizens paid for the Dames Point Bridge through a special tax - not FDOT! Millions have been spent on bike trails, eco-tourism, and A1A bridges and infrastructure throughout Florida -- does it make sense to just cut it off when it reaches Jacksonville? Remember, it is illegal for bicycles to be on the Dames Point Bridge. Cyclists have to go all the way downtown to the Main Street Bridge, a 40.5 mile detour! Tourists traveling between St. Augustine and Amelia Island will not leave I-95 in Duval County which will cost us all millions in sales revenue and tax dollars. You have a last chance to show your support for the ferry, please join us at Ferry Fest and show your support!
