Volunteer - Office of Sports and Entertainment
The City of Jacksonville Office of Sports and Entertainment is seeking talented, enthusiastic, and dynamic volunteers to assist in the production of large-scale events and activities for the City of Jacksonville. Job duties and positions vary based on event, but some examples include:
  • Guest Services
  • Premium Experiences Host
  • Ushers
  • Parade Marshals
  • Litter clean-up
  • Fan Fare 
  • Stage Assistants
Events produced by the Office of Sports and Entertainment with possible volunteer opportunities include: 
  • Florida vs. Georgia
  • Jacksonville Jazz Festival
  • World of Nations Celebration
  • Jacksonville Sea & Sky Spectacular
  • Martin Luther King Jr. Breakfast
  • Fourth of July Fireworks Celebration
  • Veterans Day Parade

Qualifications 

  • Minimum age of 15 years old (some positions require 18 years of age)
  • Love interacting with the public and excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to multi-task, work in a fast-paced environment, flexible and dependable
  • Ability to work independently under general policy directions and exercise independent judgment when appropriate

Compensation & Hours

 Volunteering is unpaid.  Days and times of work will vary based on dates of the specific event.  However, volunteers enjoy being on-site at the events free-of-charge, receive a free meal, snacks and beverages while volunteering, and most events also provide a free volunteer t-shirt (exception is MLK Breakfast where attire is business casual).
