R. Kyle Gavin joined the Office of General Counsel in February 2019.  Prior to joining the Office of General Counsel, Mr. Gavin was a partner at Liles Gavin, P.A. in Jacksonville.  He is a civil trial and appellate attorney with over 30 years of experience.  His practice included business and commercial litigation, product liability, warranty claims, professional negligence, securities litigation, intellectual property matters, contract and insurance disputes, construction litigation, medical device litigation, toxic torts, personal injury and wrongful death claims.  While working at Liles Gavin, he participated on numerous bar association committees including the Code and Rules of Evidence Committee, the Florida Bar's Judicial Nominating Procedures Rules Committee and the Fee Arbitration Committee.  Mr. Gavin also devoted time to handling pro bono cases for the Jacksonville Area Legal Aid and is active in his local church and community, including youth sports.

Mr. Gavin has earned Martindale-Hubbell's highest peer review rating of "AV."  He is also listed in The Best Lawyers in American and Florida Super Lawyers.

Mr. Gavin received a Bachelor of Science, Magna Cum Laude, in Risk Management and Insurance from the Florida State University in 1980.  He obtained his Juris Doctor degree, with Honors, from the University of Florida College of Law in 1987.  Mr. Gavin was a member of the University of Florida Law Review and served as Associate Editor. 

Mr. Gavin is a member of the Jacksonville Bar Association, the Florida Bar, American Inns of Court, the U.S. District Court, Middle District of Florida, the U.S. District Court, Northern District of Florida, the U.S. District Court, Southern District of Florida, U.S. Court of Appeals, Eleventh Circuit and a member of Church of the Redeemer.
