Call for Nominations for Local Historic Preservation Awards

The Jacksonville Historic Preservation Commission is requesting nominations for its annual awards ceremony.  Nomination forms with information on eligibility, judging and nominating procedures are available through the Planning and Development Department or at www.coj.net/PreservationAwards.
This annual awards ceremony recognizes outstanding projects and services that promote historic preservation in the Jacksonville area.  The award recipients will be honored by the Historic Preservation Commissioners at an awards ceremony in May in celebration of National Preservation Month. 
 
Award categories include:
  • Heritage Education/Publication/Film
  • Archaeological/ Historic Landscape
  • Residential Rehabilitation
  • Commercial or Institutional Rehabilitation
  • Architecturally Compatible New Construction
  • Preservation Projects and Services by individuals or organizations
  • Great Save (honoring projects that save a historic building from destruction)
  • Overall Preservation Award (organizations)
  • The Jerry Spinks Award for Lifetime Preservation Service (individuals)
Completed nomination forms with all the required support documents must be submitted by Tuesday, March 1st to:
