“The mayor uses and relies on social media for information,” said City of Jacksonville Director of Public Affairs Marsha Oliver. “With that, he recognizes that some information may be educational, informative and for entertainment – which includes parody accounts. However, threats of public safety are never funny. Social media followers should never be put in a position where they are presented with false and misleading statements as included in a recent post from a parody account.”
