The City of Jacksonville Senior Services Division is recognizing the many amazing senior volunteers who are giving back to the Jacksonville community through programs including the Independent Living Program, RSVP Program, Foster Grandparent Program, and more.

These dedicated seniors donate thousands of hours each year to support initiatives such as successful aging in place, academic success among at-risk youth, and respite care for caregivers.

The Independent Living Program, which supports successful aging in place and prevents the early institutionalization of the elderly, will host its annual volunteer recognition event on today at 10 a.m. at the Brentwood Community Center (3465 Village Center Dr. – 32206).

For more information about this event, persons should call 630-0966.
