Mayor Curry Has Lunch With High School Students

Continued Conversation on Teen Concerns and Challenges in Jacksonville
Mayor Lenny Curry rarely stops for a lunch break. It is even more rare for him to eat pizza, a deviation from the shakes and salads he consumes most afternoons. However, did both earlier this week, to honor a request a group of Lee High School students made when he visited them earlier this month.

More than a dozen young men joined Mayor Curry for lunch as he learned more about the needs and interests for improving outcomes for Jacksonville youth. The students were participants in Lee High School’s EVAC program. EVAC, is the word cave spelled backwards, and represents the students’ emergence from the “dark” and adversity. Mayor Curry, who presented the students “One Citizen Can Make a Difference” pins during his school visit, is committed to supporting Jacksonville youth with programs, services and opportunities that build youth leadership and development.
