Jacksonville has the opportunity to earn thousands for park improvements through the National Recreation and Park Association, and Walt Disney Company's "Meet Me at the Park" initiative.
Sixteen communities will be selected to receive a $20,000 grant, with one chosen through a nomination process. From April 1-30, residents can visit the Meet Me at the Park website every day to vote. The winner will be announced May 18.
The money will be used to fund park programs and projects that connect youth to nature, increase youth's access to sports, and/or inspires healthy living.
