Mandarin Household Hazardous Waste Mobile Collection Event

The City of Jacksonville’s Solid Waste Division is hosting a free household hazardous waste and electronic waste collection event at Mandarin Park on Saturday for Duval County residents.  
Household hazardous waste and e-waste mobile collection events are scheduled 11 times a year, from November to June, at various locations throughout the city. Residents are encouraged to utilize these mobile events to dispose of waste in order to prevent otherwise recyclable and/or hazardous materials from being disposed of in the landfill. Residents can also drop off their household hazardous waste and e-waste year-round at the Household Hazardous Waste Facility located at 2675 Commonwealth Ave, Tuesdays through Saturdays, from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m.

  • Jan. 10, Oceanway Park, 12215 Sago Ave.
  • Jan. 24, Jacksonville Beach Public Works Dept., 1460 Shetter Ave., Jacksonville Beach
  • Feb. 21, Ed Austin Regional Park, 2450 Monument Road
  • March 14, Lonnie Miller Park, 7689 Prince Lane
  • March 28, Blue Cypress Park, 4012 University Blvd. N
  • April 11, Mandarin Park, 14780 Mandarin Road
  • May 16, Jacksonville Beach Public Works Dept., 1460 Shetter Ave., Jacksonville Beach
  • June 13, Ed Austin Regional Park, 2450 Monument Road 
  • June 27, Lonnie Miller Park, 7689 Prince Lane
Examples of e-waste: televisions (limit three per customer), computer monitors and terminals, keyboards, printers, scanners, stereo equipment, VCRs, camcorders, DVDs, radios, desk or mobile phones, pagers, power tools, small kitchen and health and beauty appliances, etc. E-waste is collected as part of the normal garbage collection service if placed inside cart for curbside collection; however, once these items enter the waste stream with normal garbage they cannot be recycled and are disposed of in the landfill.
 
Examples of household hazardous waste: paint (limit 25 gallons per customer), varnish, shellac, paint thinners and strippers, household and car batteries, thermometers, thermostats, drain cleaners, pool chemicals, antifreeze, aerosol cans, fertilizer, pesticides, acids, gun powder, ammunition, fireworks, fluorescent bulbs and tubes, oil and oil filters, gasoline, etc. Household hazardous waste cannot be collected curbside with regular trash.
