It's time to recruit lifeguards for City pools.

Jaxparks Aquatics is gearing up for this year's swim season and are looking to hire lifeguards! There are three prerequisite skills that are required to complete:

• 300 yard swim
• 2 minutes of treading water without using hands
• Retrieve a 10 pound brick from the bottom of the diving well

In observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day, the following City government offices and facilities will be closed Monday, January 16, 2023.

The Jacksonville Jaguars will be drippin’ in teal and white on Saturday night against the Los Angeles Chargers. In support of our reigning AFC South Champions, Mayor Lenny Curry encourages all of DUUUVALL to wear Jaguars gear this Friday, January 13.

Art in the Park, Northeast Florida’s only Chalk Drawing competition, returns to Jacksonville, presented by YaYa Productions, Friends of James Weldon Johnson Park, and made possible through a generous grant from the PNC Foundation. For the past two years, several illustrious artists joined the competition including Christopher Clark, Elena Ohlander, Roosevelt Watson III, Adrian Rhodes, Grace Bio, Marcus Williams, Jenn Veal, Maiye Elaine, Tatiana Kitchen and Ian and Danielle Cleary of HeartSpace Art. Last year, several talented students also competed and produced amazing chalk art.

Mayor Lenny Curry is encouraging DUUUVAL County residents to join him in cheering on the Jacksonville Jaguars as they take on the Tennessee Titans in hopes of clinching the AFC South title and a trip to the NFL playoffs

The City of Jacksonville invites the community to celebrate the life, legacy and service of Martin Luther King, Jr. at the 36^th Annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Breakfast presented by Florida Blue on Friday, Jan. 13^th at the Prime F. Osborn III Convention Center. Breakfast will be held from 7 a.m. – 8 a.m. and the program will begin promptly at 8 a.m.

In observance of the New Year’s holiday, the following City government offices and facilities will be closed Monday, January 2, 2023.
