Animal Care and Protective Services
The Animal Care and Protective Services Division ensures that animals are properly treated and controlled. For many residents, its most important function is to serve as a source for healthy, adoptable pets. The division implements and enforces laws, regulations, codes and procedures concerning the treatment of domesticated animals. It also enforces laws dealing with control of wild animals.

Down2Zero Campaign
Animal Care and Protective Services (ACPS) and Friends of Jacksonville Animals (FOJA) have a new animal adoption campaign called Down2Zero. The primary goal of this effort is to raise awareness about the importance of adopting local shelter animals and encourage Jacksonville residents to support their local shelter by donating and/or volunteering.
