The City of Jacksonville Military Affairs and Veterans Department in partnership with the Jacksonville Public Library will be at the Charles Webb Wesconnett Library on the second Tuesday of each month from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Veterans can come speak with a Veteran Service Officer (VSO) at this local library with no appointment necessary!

HBI, a national leader for career training in the building industry, is providing SkillBridge-approved training, certification and placement in the construction industry. Take advantage of a 12-week, no-cost construction industry training, certification and job placement through a new program in the Jacksonville, FL area. This program is open to active duty military (within 180 days of separation). Spouses and local veterans are also eligible.

Join Vets4Vets for their Quarterly Gathering of Veterans on Saturday, August 10th at the VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena. This free event is open to Veterans, Military, families and supporters.

Operation New Uniform Graduation is an informal morning where our ONU veterans share their experiences from the program. Our guests, often successfully transitioned veterans and professionals committed to the success of veterans, join our ONU graduates as they discuss the experiences they have had, challenges they have overcome, and what they are doing now.

This is a great opportunity to connect with others in the community as well as see if graduates would be a good fit for any opportunities available in your company. Guests are invited to arrive early to enjoy a complimentary breakfast courtesy of Waffle House.

The Community Hospice Veterans Partnership and the University of North Florida Military and Veteran Resource Center, in partnership with Vietnam Veterans of America Local Chapter 1026, invite you to a free Agent Orange Town Hall. This is an educational and community resource for veterans and their loved ones. The program will include:

Agent Orange Town Hall Registration Link

The World's Largest Golf Outing (WLGO) is about having a great day of golf with friends, family and colleagues, while benefiting Fisher House Foundation (FHF). Fisher House Foundation is a non-profit which is best known for a network of comfort homes where military and veterans’ families can stay at no cost while a loved one is receiving treatment. This WLGO event is an 18 hole four person team scramble format. The registration fee includes a $10 per player donation, green fee, lunch, warm up bucket, local prizes and awards ceremony following play.

The public is invited to the Breakfast with Our Heroes to honor Purple Heart recipients, meet those that served and extend helping hands to homeless veterans in reemployment programs. Salute our Nation’s Combat Wounded to commemorate the upcoming August 7^th National Purple Heart Day.  Show your love and appreciation to Purple Heart Veterans and buy tickets for their breakfast.

Jacksonville VA Social Work Service and AARP present "Fraud Watch: Guarding Yourself Against Fraud, Scams and Con Games at the Jacksonville VA Outpatient Clinic. This event is open to the public. No registration is required. This information session will cover:

• how to take action if your identity is stolen
