Surplus Property Donation Program
According to Section 125.379, Florida Statutes, and Chapter 122, Ordinance Code, the City of Jacksonville/Duval County is required every three years to adopt an inventory list of all real property within the city to which the City/County holds fee simple title that is appropriate for use as potential affordable housing. City ordinance 2019-290 approves and adopts an inventory list of all real property within the City of Jacksonville to which the City holds fee simple title that is appropriate for use as potential affordable housing; declares the parcels listed on the Affordable Housing Inventory List to be surplus to the needs of the City; and authorizes the sale of the parcels. The funds are appropriated to the Neighborhoods Department for its use toward increasing the availability of affordable housing for low, moderate and middle-income households.
- Nonprofit Affordable Housing Developers will receive a 2 week (14 day) first look. The department will begin accepting applications Wednesday, June 5th at 8:00 am from Nonprofit Affordable Housing Developers.
- Applications accepted by the general public will start Wednesday, June 19th at 8:00am.
- The donation cycle will end at the close of business Tuesday, September 3rd.
The Real Estate Division has determined that no need exists for the parcels listed on the Affordable Housing Inventory List for the City or any independent agency and that the parcels meet the affordable housing criteria.
