In recognition of International Overdose Awareness Day, which is observed on the 31^st of August each year, Jacksonville Fire & Rescue Department (JFRD) and Drug Free Duval, are offering free, online training on recognizing the signs of an overdose and how to administer NARCAN® Nasal Spray, an FDA approved treatment for an opioid overdose. Participants are eligible to receive free NARCAN® kit following training. A training session will be offered on Monday, 8/30 at 2:00 PM and Wednesday, 9/15 at noon. Registration is required.

Councilman Tommy Hazouri will be released from The Mayo Clinic later today and will return home under hospice care.   Tommy deeply appreciates all the thoughts, well wishes, and prayers from the Jacksonville community.  While his lungs may be failing him, his heart remains full for the people of this city.  The Hazouri family asks that you continue respecting their privacy in this difficult time.
