During your first year you will receive 11 paid holidays, one personal day, and up to four weeks of paid time off that you can use as annual or sick leave.
Most employees will have the option to choose either a pension or 401(k)-style plan. Both plans have a mandatory 8% employee contribution rate; however, your contribution will be in lieu of Social Security (currently 6.2%). Our 401(k)-style plan is also matched at a generous 7.7% by the employer! An additional Deferred Compensation plan is available for those seeking to invest aggressively towards retirement.

City of Jacksonville employees are eligible for Federal Student Loan Forgiveness after 10 years of public service and on-time payments.
