The next Veterans Council of Duval County meeting will be on Tuesday, November 19, 2019. The meeting will be held at American Legion Post 137 at 7:00 P.M.

This event provides job opportunities and information for local Veterans, transitioning military, caregivers, and their families. There will be more than 70 Veteran friendly employers and resource agencies present. A special Veterans Recognition Program will begin at 9:45 a.m.

Topics will include: Whole Health and Integrated Care for Health and Wellness Suicide Prevention Initiatives and Partnerships Moral Injury & Post Traumatic Growth Mission Act/Community Care Transitioning Service Members Services Same Day Access to Care & PCMHI Built for Zero Homelessness Initiative  This event is open to the public. Pre-registration is appreciated. JAX Chamber's 17th Annual Military Appreciation Luncheon will celebrate Jacksonville's outstanding active duty and retired military personnel. This event is a Chamber tradition, honoring the brave men and women of the U.S. Armed Forces, and the many veterans of past wars living in the Greater Jacksonville Area.

The City of Jacksonville Military Affairs and Veterans Department in partnership with the Jacksonville Public Library will be at the Charles Webb Wesconnett Library on the second Tuesday of each month from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Veterans can come speak with a Veteran Service Officer (VSO) at this local library with no appointment necessary!

The 8th Annual Salute to Veterans 5K will be held on Sunday, November 10th. The event honors Veterans and benefits the Jacksonville Historic Naval Ship Association (JHNSA)  and K9s for Warriors. There will also be a 1 Mile Fun Run and a Patriotic Paws Parade at 9:00 A.M.
