Pursuant to Section 286.011(8), Florida Statutes, and as requested by the Office of General Counsel and announced at a Special Meeting of the City Council, I am setting a litigation shade meeting of the Council to consider settlement negotiations and strategy sessions related to litigation expenditures as to the following case:

• • Jacksonville Branch of the NAACP, et. al, v. City of Jacksonville, et. al., Case No. 3:22-cv-493-MMH-LLL, U.S. District Court, Middle District of Florida

The shade meeting will be conducted on Monday, March 27, 2023, immediately following the Special Meeting of the City Council at 1:00 p.m., in the Council Offices, Suite 425, Conference Room A, Fourth Floor, City Hall, 117 West Duval Street, Jacksonville, Florida 32202. The shade meeting is expected to last 90 minutes.

Notice is hereby given that a Special Meeting of the Council will be held on Monday, March 27, 2023, in the Council Chamber, 1st Floor, City Hall, St. James Building, located at 117 West Duval Street, Jacksonville, Florida at 1:00 p.m. The purpose of this meeting is to address the Redistricting litigation.

 

Notice is hereby given that Council President Terrance Freeman and Council Member Brenda Priestly Jackson will meet for Workshops on the Current Status and Future Needs of the Office of General Counsel (OGC) on the dates and times noted below. The meetings will be held in the Lynwood Roberts Room, located on the 1st floor, City Hall - St. James Building, 117 West Duval Street Jacksonville, Florida 32202. The purpose of these workshops will be to focus on Chapter 25 – Office of General Counsel – and any proposed changes to Chapter 25 that may be necessary to continue the utilization of central services and high-quality legal expertise provided by the Office of General Counsel to the City, independent agencies, and constitutional officers.
