City Council to Install District Nine Council Member Warren A. Jones

June 01, 2007

Jacksonville City Council President Michael L. Corrigan, Jr., today announced that the City Council will install the new District Nine Council Member, Warren A. Jones, on Monday, June 4, 2007. The ceremony will be held at 10:00 a.m., in Council Chambers at 117 W. Duval Street, Jacksonville, Florida.

'The citizens of District Nine have been without representation since last November, so the Council has been very eager for Council Member-Elect Jones to assume office,' said President Corrigan. 'Because of Warren's past service on the City Council, he brings tremendous insight and experience to this Council and we are all looking forward to serving with him,' added President Corrigan.

Council President Corrigan also thanked Council Member Glorious Johnson for her service on the Audit and Economic, Community and International Development (ECID) Committees in those seats left vacant with the resignation of the former Council Member for District Nine. 'Because of Council Member Johnson's commitment and dedication, the Audit and ECID Committees were fully represented during the extended period that the City Council was without full membership,' stated Corrigan, 'and I want to express my sincere appreciation to Glorious for her all her hard work and a job well done.'
