The 2.87-acre green space features new fencing, benches, trash receptacles and pavilions.

The $267,147 project is the result of significant collaboration between the community and the City of Jacksonville. The project was funded by a Mayor's Matching Grant, donations from the Springfield community and a Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) Intermodal Surface Transportation Efficiency Act (ISTEA) grant which was applied for by the Springfield Improvement Association and Women's Club.
