Bill Enables Advent Software to Expand in Jacksonville

A financial software company that employs 122 people on the Southside is proposing expansions that will allow it to create up to 123 new, full-time software development and IT client support positions in Jacksonville over the next three years, pending approval of state and local incentives.

Local producers and director to be honored

Members of the Mayor’s Advisory Board on Motion Pictures, Television and Commercial Production, the Jacksonville City Council, the Jacksonville Film & Television Office and industry leaders are gathering to celebrate this year’s highlights in local film and digital media production at the 13th Annual Jacksonville Film Industry Reception.  On Thursday evening, local business owner Ray Hays will be presented the 2013 Jacksonville Film Industry Award, andwardrobe stylist Megan Walker and director Gustavo Cooper will be presented the 2013 Rising Star Award during the event.

Projects Combined Will Generate Up to $14 Million in Capital Investment and
320 High-Wage Jobs


Mayor Alvin Brown and JAXUSA Partnership, a division of the JAX Chamber, announced today that Bank of America, Energy Intelligence Worldwide Corp. (EIWC) and Total Quality Logistics LLC are each proposing major expansions in Jacksonville. Combined, the companies’ projects are projected to create 320 new high-wage jobs with an average annual salary of more than $50,000 and approximately $14 million in capital investment in Jacksonville.
