MISSION: manage growth, protect environmentally sensitive lands, improve water quality, and provide public access to the City of Jacksonville's vast natural areas
Preservation Project Jacksonville (PPJ) is committed to the protection of
Northeast Florida's environmentally sensitive lands and the education of residents about the natural habitats and history that surrounds our area. Through PPJ and its partners, Jacksonville is home to more than 50,000 acres of preservation parkland with thousands of acres open for visitors to explore.
Former Mayor John Delaney began Preservation Project Jacksonville in 1999. Today the project is moving successfully into a phase to provide public access to these beautiful areas while continuing to protect the lands.
