Household Hazardous Wastes

Paint cans collected during household hazerdous waste collection.Household hazardous wastes cannot be collected curbside. Residents may take items to the city's Household Hazardous Waste Facility at 2675 Commonwealth Ave. 

As of May 3, 2011, hours of operation are Tuesday through Saturday, 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. The facility is closed on Sunday and Monday. For more information or to arrange for special handling of unusual material, call (904) 387-8847.

In observance of Memorial day the facility will be closed Saturday, 26th of May.

Mobile Collection Events

Our mobile collection events program has been expanded from collecting household hazardous wastes to include the collection of electronic wastes (e-wastes). Each event is open to all Duval County residents. For information, call (904) 387-8847.

Residents of Duval County may dispose of burned out CFL light bulbs at the Household Hazardous Waste Facility at 2675 Commonwealth Ave. Call 387- 8847 for additional information.
