The City of Jacksonville/Duval County is applying for the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) 2008 Storm Disaster Recovery Grant Application in the amount of $4,276,399. This grant is to fund projects due to damage from Tropical Storm Fay that do not qualify for FEMA reimbursement. At least, 14 percent of the grant must be used for very low to moderate income rental housing. The deadline for the grant application is Friday, Jan. 15, 2010. As part of the grant requirement, the City of Jacksonville will conduct a meeting to review all the Duval County municipal needs and project requests. A translator can be provided upon request.
